River and reservoir anglers are very familiar with the scenario – no running water and fish are more often inactive. Once the dam opens up and the current starts to flow, fish congregate in certain areas and become more active. Perhaps it’s the quest for well-oxygenated water, cooler water, the release of food or a combination of each. In any case, this ‘natures aquarium’ outing reinforces the point that overall fish activity level increases with current.
