I’ve had the pleasure of testing hundreds of bass fishing rods over the last several years. Throughout this testing I’ve discovered numerous rods I’ve since used religiously. One of the newest rods I believe falls in this category is the Trika 6X Casting Rod. I just got this rod several weeks ago, however I’ve already used it for a variety of applications. I’ve caught bass pushing 6 pounds using this setup, and I’ve been impressed with how its performed. Not only is this rod versatile, but it’s packed with high end, light weight features making it a real joy to fish with.

MY FAVORITE FEATURES

While I’ve only had this rod a few weeks, I’ve used it nearly every time I hit the water. I don’t do this with every rod, and there’s a few reasons this one quickly graduated to my everyday arsenal. The biggest reason I’ve been using this rod is its overall sensitivity. The handle and reel seat on this rod lack any foam, cork or other types of cushion. This allows for a direct connection between the rod and your hand, ultimately creating a more sensitive rod. This allows for subtle bite detection and a greater landing percentage.

The other reason I use the Trika 6X Casting Rod is its weight. This rod is super light, which I wouldn’t come to expect given its heavy action and increased length. The lightweight feel and strong backbone make this a super fun rod to use. A rod that’s lightweight, strong and sensitive is hard to find, especially without breaking the bank. Retailing at only $299, this rod is super competitive in its field.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I’ve used this rod for a variety of techniques, however I found a few applications where this rod really shines. Some of my favorite ways to use this rod include throwing a Carolina Rig and 3/4-ounce vibrating jig. The strong backbone is great for bombing heavy Carolina Rigs, however the rod still loads nicely when you set the hook. Not only is the rod great for bombing heavy bottom baits, but the sensitive blank is great for detecting subtle bites.

Another application where this rod shines is throwing a heavy weighted vibrating jig. This rod is slightly longer than my typical vibrating jig rod, making it perfect for slightly heavier jigs. The strong back bone is great for ripping your bait out of grass, especially with heavy weighted jigs. Ive used this rod for both a 3/4 and 1-ounce vibrating jigs, and it had more than enough power to handle that larger sized lure.

I’ve had a blast testing out the Trika 6X Casting Rod, and I’ll likely be trying more of their rods in the near future. Im a huge fan of high end fishing gear, and this rod has everything you’d come to expect from a top of the line fishing rod. If your in the market for an upgrade, I highly recommend checking out the Trika 6X Casting Rods.
