Small swimbaits are getting to be some of the most versatile lures in an angler’s tackle box. You can fish them top to bottom from zero feet to 60 feet effectively and catch fish relating to the bottom, cover or just roaming out over open water. Small profile that swims perfect
The Tackle HD Swimmer has a lot packed into it for a small finesse swimbait. It’s incorporated a lot of elements into one soft plastic bait to be able to work in a lot of fishing scenarios. The profile is right as far as shape, contour, tail size compared to body, plastic formulation and the lack of salt and sand in it.
All of these things combine to give the swimbait a great kick with a slight shifting body roll that really looks good in the water.
Unique body gives it the right roll
You can notice the unique shape of the body when you look at it from the top. I call this swimbait “hippy.” Because it’s hips are wider than its front. What that means is the swimbait catches water in the back which causes the body to shift back and forth in the water while the tail is kicking in the back.
So while some finesse swimbaits are made to just have a little tail kick, this bait has roll and kick that is not often found in small swimmers.
Two Sizes and 10 Great Colors

Easier to Store Bag
So you may have heard that these come in a bag, and that for obvious reasons turns guys off on a swimbait because they are worried with bent tails. But that’s not the case with these swimbaits. Because of the formulation and the lack of salt or sand, the swimbaits don’t develop memory in a bag. So the tails won’t bend or stay bent as easily and even if they are slightly turned, because they don’t have memory, they still swim fine.
When you put salt in plastics, the plastics will develop a hard memory and can get bent out of whack. And since the material is more dense and harder, it will stay in that position and be messed up. That’s why you see guys with tackle bags full of clam shells.
But Tackle HD wanted to provide the most affordable swimbait they could for anglers and make sure the angler didn’t have to worry with all that plastic clamshell waste. So they worked on the formulation specifically to be put in a bag to make it easier to carry for anglers.
Good on A-Rigs
Because these come in 10 packs, you can get a bag and fill up to A-Rigs and literally fish most of the season on one pack for $5. The larger 4-inch size comes 8 to the bag. But you get the point. These are an awesome choice for A-rigs at $5 a bag.
I’ve caught several smallmouth, a bunch of largemouth and even some spots on these swimbaits. They just get bit.
Good as a single swimbait
I’ve thrown a small single swimbait a lot more the last 4-5 years because of how it just works everywhere and gets bites. This is a great option when your roaming around just looking for fish with Livescope and other technologies.
