With the uptick in fishing pressure that’s occurred over the last several years, maintaining our fisheries is quickly becoming more and more important. One of the biggest stresses our lakes experience is large scale fishing tournaments. These events often have over 200+ boats that all catch numerous fish over the course of the day. Keeping these fish alive is not only imperative for having a successful tournament, but it also ensures the longevity of the sport we love. Recently I’ve been testing a variety of different live well treatments based on their ability to keep bass happy on healthy over the course of a tournament day. I’ve tested upwards of 10 different treatments over the last several months, and one of my absolute favorites is the Bass Medics Rejuvenade Livewell Treatment.

WHY LIVEWELL TREATMENTS ARE IMPORTANT
Livewell treatments are important year round, however they’re exceedingly important throughout the summer months. High water temperatures and post spawn bass are a known recipe for killing fish. This is when fish are at their weakest, so it’s important to give them every possible chance at survival. Not only are fish exceedingly weak this time of year, but they are often located in deep water. Quickly reeling these fish to the top and directly putting them in the live well causes their swim bladder to expand, ultimately causing them to perish faster. The change in pressure causes these fish to float on their side, forcing them to exert a ton of energy trying to right themselves in the live well.
A good live well treatment such as Bass Medics Rejuvenade paired with either fin clips or a fizz needle allows these bass to relax in the live well, ultimately increasing their chance at survival. Along with relaxing and rejuvenating fish, this formula is great for protecting against bacteria and other harmful agents. Ive also used this product as a coagulant as its great at preventing bleeding from gut hooks or other accidental injuries. Overall this is a must-have product all tournament angers should have in their arsenal.
HOW TO USE REJUVENADE
Not only is this product effective, but it’s also easy to use. I typically add Rejuvenade to my livewell at the beginning of the day, and I gradually add more as the day progresses. I have two 25 gallon livewells in my Phoenix bass boat, therefor I add one capful to each live well. I run my recirculation and aerator pumps on auto throughout the day, gradually adding fresh water to my livewells. Rejuvenade adds a bright green color to your livewell water, so I tend to add more depending on the color of the water. Once I notice a fade in the color, I’ll top it off with anywhere between a half and full cap worth of Rejuvenade.
