Strike King announced today that they will reintroduce their largest size of the Shadalicious, the 6.5-inch. Like many fishing products, certain sku’s are discontinued based on a lack of sales. It’s just not good business to keep making something that isn’t selling enough to cover the expense of production. That was the case with the 6 1/2 inch Shadalicious. Folks stopped buying that size as the hollow-bodied swimbait craze died down. But now with the emergence of the castable umbrella rig craze, the 6.5-inch Shadalicious has been in high demand.
The Strike King Shadalicious was sold in four sizes originally from 3 1/2-inches to 6 1/2 inches. Now it will once again be available in four sizes. The popularity of putting four smaller swimbaits on the outside of a castable umbrella rig and then a big one in the middle makes the 6.5 a perfect fit with the 3.5 and 4.5 on the outside of the 5-wire umbrella rigs.
Along with this announcement was the announcement of Strike King’s castable umbrella rig the Sexy Squadron Rig and the Sexy Squadron Jigheads that will begin shipping soon. The Shadilicious is in inventory now and should be shipping any day now.
