We ran across a cool product from Nite Ize that will shed a little light on your night time fishing. Or at least the tedious parts of it that are rigging and finding stuff in your storage compartments when the sun goes down. They make these handing lights that you can basically attach to anything with a rubber coated metal cord that can wrap around handles, lids and other spots to give you a mounted light for getting rigged and fishing in the dark.
The first light we played with is the WrapLit LED Utility Light. It has a focus LED beam that is turned on with a simple squeeze of the light. It has four light modes offering a bright beam, low beam, strobe and signal. The rubber twist tie with the rubber coated wire is 18-inches long and can be bent and twisted over and over again. I wrap it around the inside handle of my main tackle compartment and hang it as a beam light when I’m tying knots at night or early in the morning.
The other light we tested and liked was the Moonlit Light. It is similar to the WrapLit LED Utility Light but it has a more spread focus to give you a soft and not direct harsh light. It lights a small area nicely but lightly, which is often a good deal when you’re fishing at night and don’t want to attract a lot of bugs with a real bright light. It has a glow mode and flash mode. Both lights feature replaceable batteries.
The best part is the lights are affordable options for night anglers. The WrapLit has an MSRP of $12.99 and the MoonLit has an MSRP of $10.79. You can find out more about these lights and other cool gear ties and lights at niteize.com.
