Sometimes it seems like Jordan Lee’s mind-boggling success at age 26 is as much a product of purely gifted fishing intuition as it is overly analytical strategy.
However his choice of tow-vehicles was certainly well-thought-out based on Toyota’s comfort, power, fuel capacity, oversized brakes — and of course — the chance to cash-in on some serious bonus money as a byproduct of his iconic tournament success.
“We basically live in our trucks, and the comfort of my Tundra is pretty awesome when I’m driving all over the country to tournaments. Plus, it has a huge 38-gallon fuel tank that saves me from stopping all the time to get gas,” says the back-to-back Bassmaster Classic Champion.
“When you add up the weight of my Ranger, plus all the gear in it, I’m towing well over 2,000 pounds. Not only does my Tundra have the power to pull that much weight, but it also has oversized brakes to stop all that weight on a dime. I can’t tell you how many times being able to stop safely has saved me from being in an accident,” says a grateful Lee.
Jordan’s decision to buy a Toyota Tundra also qualified him to sign-up for the popular Bonus Bucks Program, from which being the highest placing program participant at the Classic paid him $7,500.
“The Bonus Bucks program offers a great incentive for eligible tournament anglers of all levels to possibly pick up some extra cash no matter what level you compete at. So really, why would you tow your boat with anything but a Toyota?” says Lee.
Jordan’s right. You don’t have to be a back-to-back Classic champion to win the “Bonus Bucks” – you just have to be a registered participant in the Toyota Bonus Bucks Program, and be the highest-placing participant in any of the dozens of tournaments supported by the Program.
