We have some very sad news to pass along today. Bass fishing icon Jerry McKinnis passed away Sunday morning at 82 years old. McKinnis was a former co-owner of B.A.S.S. and founder of JM Associates. He also hosted a very popular fishing television show called “Fishing Hole” that ran on ESPN for 44 years.
According to Jim Sexton of B.A.S.S., McKinnis had been in the hospital for the past six weeks fighting an infection caused by an injury sustained on a Wyoming fishing trip.
This is a developing story and we will publish more details when they’re made known. In the meantime, our heartfelt prayers are with the McKinnis family and our many friends at B.A.S.S.
