We got word of a huge catfish caught from Lake Wheeler this past weekend. Ohio anglers Carl Morris Jr. and Rob Parsons managed to haul in a 114.96-pound blue catfish during the Cabela’s King Kat tournament. The team was fishing downriver near the dam where they fished very specific structure. With only three fish by 2:00pm, the anglers decided to spend some time drift fishing before the end of the day and it paid off with the monster catfish.
Parsons fought the fish for roughly 10 minutes and Morris couldn’t even fit the fish into their large net. The catfish bottomed out their personal scale at 100 pounds, so they had no idea how big it really was until weigh in.
Their catch was the biggest fish ever weighed at a King Kat event. They caught the blue catfish on a skipjack. See how it compares to the biggest blue catfish ever caught!
