Saturday morning at approximately 12:30am, Guntersville Fire Department received a call about a large fire at Val Monte Marina near two very popular restaurants—The Pointe and Top O’ The River.
20 to 23 boats were destroyed and some petroleum was leaked into the harbor. Will Kennamer with the Marshall County EMA said it was very minimal and will be easily contained.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but according to officials, there are no early indications that foul play was a factor.
