News outlets reported on the breaking of ground this week on the new Caymas Boats line being created by former Triton Boats and Statos boats founder Earl Bentz. The new company will have $30.3 million invested in launching it, and it will hire 280 workers in the Ashland City area of middle Tennessee.
Two buildings formerly used to build Triton Boats before they moved operations after the sale are being renovated off of Highway 12 in Ashland City. The new boat line will feature both saltwater bay boats to 27 feet in length as well as a line of bass boats to 21 feet.
“I’ve been in boat factories all over the country and the best craftsmen in America are located right here in Middle Tennessee,” Bentz said. He also noted that former workers from Stratos, Triton and Javelin have already signed on to be a part of Caymas.
The new boat brand is set to begin production in 2019.
