The Kings of Bass Tournament, presented by FishUSA, is back for 2024 and will once again take place in Erie, Pennsylvania. The two-day event is put together by the Western PA Team Bass Series and will occur on July 27th and 28th . The unique tournament format is one that truly separates the best of the best, with anglers only able to bring Smallmouth Bass to the scales on one day, and only Largemouth on the other.
“The central basin of Lake Erie, including Presque Isle Bay, provides the perfect fishery for the unique format of Kings of Bass,” said WPTBS Board Member Billy Hines. “Not many places in the country offer the opportunity to catch plenty of quality Largemouth in addition to world-class Smallmouth.”
Kings of Bass guarantees a 100 percent payout, with a $2,000 prize for first place based on a minimum of 20 boats. In addition to a great payout, the first 20 teams registered will receive two Flagship Bass Rods courtesy of FishUSA, and all competitors are entered to win a Garmin Panoptix LiveScope Plus LVS34 Transducer and LiveScope GLS 10 System thanks to Garmin. Every team also receives a package of products from other sponsors, such as Bait-Pop, SteelShad, Yamamoto Custom Baits, Bill Lewis, Flip-Clip, Big Bite Baits, and many more! Anglers will also compete to win products from brands such as Daiwa and St. Croix.
Needless to say, partnerships with these brands have significantly contributed in the growth of this event which will continue to be scheduled for the last weekend in July on an annual basis. The partnership with the Erie Sports Commission and with FishUSA, one of America’s fastest-growing fishing retailers, have helped greatly in spreading awareness of the event.
“We are very excited to be a part of what Kings of Bass has grown into and cannot wait to see what the future holds for this event,” said FishUSA Marketing Director Nick Taylor. “FishUSA’s growth in the Bass category has been very impressive. We contribute this to multiple factors but the support that we receive from tournament anglers across the US has really grown brand awareness for us.”
