Alex Niapas hooked and landed a 15.73-pound largemouth bass from New Melones on Feb. 7, 2015 while fishing the 100 Plus Tournament. Niapas fishes with John Chiarpotti, who caught the 14.75-pound largemouth a few weeks earlier. But in this tournament he was fishing with Jerry Harvey. Harvey and Niapas won the tournament with 28 pounds. Niapas caught the giant bass on a 9-inch Jerry Rago Glideator glide bait.
