In the spring, an often overlooked forage option for bass are bluegills. A lot of guys are flipping crawfish lures or throwing baits that mimic a shad. But a bluegill is a big part of a shallow bass’s diet. Jason spends some time fishing areas where the bluegill are shallow looking for bass cruising in those areas. You can flip shallow cover, around shallow grass and on flats and in pockets where bluegills will congregate to make beds.
