Professional bass angler Davy Hite wishes he would’ve adopted finesse spinning applications earlier in his career. The reason is simple – a soft plastic like the Yamamoto Senko fished on a light wire hook arguably catches bass better than anything else in clear and/or pressured waters.
Davy stresses the importance using a light wire hook – preferably one with a weed guard, which allows the presentation to be fished cleanly in grassy areas. Once you get bit, bass hold on and a simple reel set is all that’s needed to penetrate the light wire hook. Hooking the plastic through an O-ring increases your hooking percentage while saving plastics throughout the day.
