A drop shot with a wacky rigged worm is irresistible to bass of all sizes and under almost all conditions. Elite Series pro Terry Scroggins doesn’t like traditional drop shot weights for shallow water though – he believes the fast fall rate kills the action of the worm on the fall, which is when a lot of shallow water strikes occur. A light weight allows the worm to undulate seductively on the fall before the horizontal retrieve, and will simply produce more strikes in water 7 feet or less.
