Garmin Releases New Force Pro Trolling Motor

“We saw opportunities to make a great motor even better. We got a lot of things right out of the gate, but knew there was room for improvement,” said Dave Dunn, Garmin’s Director of Marine Sales. “There were some things we learned after the release by listening to our customers, and we added them into the new Garmin Force Pro trolling motor.”

Dunn notes that the new Force Pro looks remarkably similar to the previous model, but there’s plenty of innovation hiding under the familiar outline, including Garmin’s most precise GPS positioning technology, now combined with reverse thrust capability for even better navigation capabilities and anchor-lock performance. The GT56UHD, Garmin’s latest and most powerful Ultra High-Definition scanning transducer, is built-in. And the 100-pound thrust brushless motor, the most powerful in the industry, still provides more than enough propulsion.

“One of the only clues that the motor is different from the previous generation lies in the illuminated arrow on the motor’s head,” Dunn said. This permits anglers to better see where the motor is pointed, and greatly helps those using forward-facing sonar see where their beam is heading. “We were actually able to test these with our pros on the circuit without anyone noticing.”

Superior Anchor Lock and Navigation Capabilities

“The GPS and the anchor lock performance are the big story here,” Dunn added.

The Force Pro utilizes multi-band GPS signal reception and an integrated heading sensor, which lets the motor stay precisely in place or follow a heading or route better than ever before. This means anglers can position their boat exactly where it needs to be, over brush, alongside a school of fish, or in a current seam.

“The Force Pro and Kraken are the only two trolling motors out there with dual-band GPS receivers,” he said.

New Reverse Function

The excellent GPS receiver is just one of the reasons the Force Pro has improved anchor lock and navigation abilities. The other involves the new reverse capabilities of the powerful brushless motor. The new reverse thrust feature can reduce steering activity and noise levels by simply bumping the motor backward. In addition to the lower noise levels, it also lets you sneak up on fish by not running them over.

“You won’t overshoot a waypoint with the reverse,” Dunn said. “It eases you into your spot.”

Additional Features of the new Garmin Force Pro Trolling Motor

  • Force Pro offers built-in sonar integration with an included GT56UHD, Garmin’s premium all-in-one scanning transducer that delivers Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü sonar along with CHIRP traditional sonar for brilliant image clarity of structure and fish below and to the sides of the boat.
  • Wireless integration with Garmin chartplotters allows anglers to create routes, patterns and tracks for the trolling motor to follow while they fish.
  • Connect Force Pro to a compatible Garmin smartwatch to control steering, anchor lock and more, right from the wrist.
  • Anglers can fish in low light and know at-a-glance what direction they’re headed thanks to the lighted indicator on the trolling motor shaft cap.
  • With the included foot pedal or wireless remote, anglers can control the Force Pro with Garmin’s simple point-and-go gesture steering.
  • Rugged and durable, all Force Pro components—including the sturdy composite shaft and reinforced pull cable—are built to endure hard marine environments with advanced corrosion and saltwater protection.
  • Add an optional LiveScope transducer for award-winning live sonar; Force Pro is designed for easy installation of the full line of LiveScope live sonar transducers.

The Force pro is available now, with a scissor-style mount, built-in GT56UHD transducer and choice of 50- or 57-inch shaft lengths for $3,999.99 and $4,099.99, respectively.
